Providence Photonics has been providing flare monitoring services worldwide since the commercialization of its Mantis™ flare monitoring product. Mantis™ utilizes the proven Video Imaging Spectral Radiometry (VISR) method. As of early 2024, Providence Photonics has measured the flare efficiency of approximately 1,500 flares across six continents. The Mantis™ flare monitor is used to determine exact flare combustion efficiency (CE), destruction efficiency (DE), and flowrate (when the flare is not equipped with flowmeter or the flow measurement instrument is not reliable). Combining the measured flare DE, the flowrate (either provided by customer or measured using Mantis™), and a representative methane content provided by the customer, we provide exact methane emission rate that meets the OGMP 2.0 Level 4 requirements.

Flare surveys are usually a short-term measurement for a subject flare. The setup for Mantis™ is very simple, usually taking about 15 minutes. The duration of measurement is based on the customer's needs and can be as short as 15 minutes or as long as days to months.
